Sandy Estabrook’s Quick Plotter
From Sandy Estabrook’s Guide to the Abacos, Bahamas

For Use with a Mac or PC.

As the name implies, this little graphically enhanced spreadsheet (Excel) will calculate the distance and heading from one waypoint to another.
I used a full spreadssheet version for in house planning of my Abaco trips from the West Coast of Fla.

Note: The formulas are based on planar not spherical geometry, so errors will be encountered over greater distances.
Any inaccuracy will be of little consequence for distances one typically travels in a day even in a fast boat.

Just enter the latitude and longitude of your departure and destination waypoints along with your typical cruising speed.
Simple as that.

Just to play it safe, the usual disclaimer:
This excel spreadsheet should not be used for navigation.
Familiar with Excel? Why not use formulas to create a complete route spreadsheet.
